Elba Alvarado (She/Her) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who enjoys working with a diverse population and a range of mental health issues. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology at Vanguard University and then her Masters in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Azusa Pacific University.
Elba specializes in working with severe trauma and high stress situations. Her background taught her how to hold the chaos for her clients and provide empathy and skills to help clients process their experiences. Elba’s background training includes UCLA’s OCD program, Substance Abuse , and Victims of Crime. Elba also has PHP/IOP training where she has learned how to provide therapy to those on the Schizophrenic Spectrum.
Currently, Elba works at Teen Therapy Center providing therapeutic services to individuals, children, teens, families and couples. Special Interest include:

Elba comes from a Hispanic culture background that includes family members of Special Education/Teachers, Probation Officers, Police/ Detectives and Social Workers. Having a diverse background helps her connect with many and create a safe space for people to process and learn. She enjoys helping people find their voice and learn how to advocate for themselves. Elba provides therapy services using a behavioral lens plus parts of other therapeutic techniques in order to create a personalized treatment for her clients. Elba also provides services in Spanish.
