Elba Alvarado is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) who enjoys working with a diverse population and a range of mental health issues. She earned her bachelors in psychology at Vanguard University and then her Masters in clinical psychology with emphasis in MFT at Azusa Pacific University. For three years, Elba was a Board Certified Autism Technician and worked in the ABA field while in school. She also worked with children K-12, providing services at school for at risk youth.
Currently, Elba works at UCLA in the OCD IOP Adult program with patients who have OCD and or Hoarding. She works with a state program for Victims of Crime as well.
Elba comes from a family of teachers, probation officers and social workers. Having a diverse background helps her connect with many at risk youth, the Hispanic community and first responder families. She enjoys helping people find their voice and learn how to advocate for themselves. Elba is also a LGBTQ+ Ally.
Her experience and training in a wide range of mental health issues includes: anxiety, depression, OCD/hoarding, Autism, behavioral issues and at risk youth. Currently she provides therapy services using a behavioral lense and parts of other therapeutic techniques in order to create a personalized treatment for her clients. She provides services in both English and Spanish.
