Bridging the Gap: Community Outreach and Support at Teen Therapy Center

At Teen Therapy Center, we are deeply committed to not only supporting individual families but also contributing to the broader community through extensive community outreach efforts. We recognize that parenting, especially during the teenage years, can be a daunting journey filled with unique challenges and uncertainties. That’s why we strive to bridge the gap between parents, their teens, and younger children by offering a range of community-oriented services designed to foster understanding, connection, and mutual support.

Join Our Community

We invite you to be a part of our thriving community by attending one of our upcoming workshops. Community support programs like ours are essential in providing ongoing education and emotional support to parents. We offer parent workshops that are both humorous and informative throughout the school year, led by our Founder & Clinical Director, Kent Toussaint. Kent is an expert in helping kids, teens and families and he also trains emerging therapists at our sister nonprofit, Child & Teen Counseling Below is a schedule of our upcoming workshops for local parent organizations that have invited us to speak during this school year. Most are open for anyone to attend, though some may require you to contact the host for permission.

By participating in our programs for mental health awareness and support groups and community programs, you’ll gain valuable insights, practical strategies, and a sense of belonging that can make all the difference in your parenting journey. We believe that together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community for all.

We offer one free workshop a year to our local public schools. Fee negotiated for private schools. If you’d like us to come help support your community of parents, or there’s another way we can collaborate, let us know!

Our Approach to Community Outreach

Community outreach is at the heart of what we do at Teen Therapy Center. We believe that the most effective way to help any individual family is through personalized, private sessions in our office, where we can work closely with parents and their children to address specific concerns. However, we also understand the immense value of connecting parents with each other through group settings. That’s why we host a variety of seminars and workshops aimed at providing parents with the tools, knowledge, and community they need to navigate the complexities of raising children and teenagers.

Our workshops are designed to bring essential resources directly to the community. By offering workshops and outreach programs for teens and their families, we help create a supportive network that extends beyond our office walls. These initiatives are crucial in promoting mental health awareness and ensuring that all community members have access to the support they need.

The Importance of Parent Support Networks

All too often, we hear from parents who feel isolated and alone in their parenting journey. The challenges of raising children, especially during the teenage years, can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel like no one else understands what you’re going through. At Teen Therapy Center, we want to change that. Our parent support workshops are designed to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where parents can come together to share their experiences, learn from one another, and gain valuable insights from our experienced professionals.

Through our community support services, we provide parents with access to various forums where they can learn without being judged, talk without being criticized, and be listened to without being interrupted. Sometimes all you need are a few suggestions to get you over that hump, and our workshops are the perfect place to find those solutions.

Giving Back to the Community

At Teen Therapy Center, we believe that giving back to the community is not just a responsibility but a vital part of our mission. We fully believe that our community as a whole is responsible for shaping and mentoring the children who will become our future. This belief drives our commitment to support for community mental health through various initiatives.

We offer community mental health events that are often provided at no charge to local organizations such as PTSA, church groups, and professional organizations that serve parents. These events are part of our broader outreach for adolescent mental health and aim to equip parents with the knowledge and tools they need to support their children effectively. By attending these free workshops, you’ll learn how to create a peaceful household with teenagers and connect with other parents who share similar experiences.
