Empty Nest... What's Next?
Online support for California moms ready to write their next chapter.
The last box is packed. The car pulled out of the driveway. And now the house is quiet. Really quiet.
Maybe you keep walking past a bedroom door that used to be loud with music and arguments about curfew, and you’re not totally sure what to do with yourself. Maybe you’re proud and relieved and a little unmoored, all in the same afternoon. Maybe you’ve already caught yourself wondering, if I’m not needed the way I used to be needed, who am I now?
Here’s the good news: this isn’t an ending. It’s an opening. And you don’t have to figure out what’s on the other side of it by yourself
A Note From Rosie:
“So many of the moms I talk to think they’re supposed to feel one thing when their kid leaves, either grief or relief. Almost nobody feels just one thing. This group isn’t about picking the right emotion. It’s about giving you room to feel all of it, and then start building whatever comes next.” — Rosie Fiore, AMFT, group facilitator

What Is Empty Nest... What's Next?
It’s a six-week online support group for California moms whose kids have recently left home, for college, a first apartment, a gap year, or just life. Each week, a small group of moms gets together over Zoom with Rosie to talk honestly about this transition: who you’re becoming, what you actually want now, and how to build a full life that isn’t centered entirely on the kids you raised so well.
This isn’t parenting advice for the empty nest. It’s support for you.
Is This Group Right For You?
- Your youngest recently moved out, whether that's across the country or across town, and the house feels different.
- You're proud of the person you raised, and you're also quietly wondering who you are outside of "Mom."
- You want space to think about what's next, your relationships, your work, your friendships, your own goals, without anyone needing a ride somewhere.
- You'd rather talk to other moms in the exact same season than read another article about it.
- You live in California (our groups meet online via Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in the state).
How It Works
- Six 90-minute sessions, once a week, live over Zoom.
- A small group, up to 6 moms, so every session actually feels personal.
- Led by Rosie Fiore, AMFT, supervised by Kent Toussaint, LMFT.
- A short intake conversation before your first session, and a wrap-up session to help you carry what you've built forward.
New groups open several times a year. Next starting on October 13, 2026.

What You'll Gain From This Group
- A clearer sense of who you are beyond the schedule you've run for the last 18-plus years.
- Real tools for the relationships that are shifting right now, with your kid, your partner, and yourself.
- A small circle of moms who are living this exact season alongside you, not just cheering from the sidelines.
- Actual momentum toward what's next, whether that's a rekindled hobby, a career move, or just remembering what you like to do on a random Tuesday night.
Pricing and Schedule
- $450 for the full six-week cycle. New cycles open several times a year.
FAQs
Yes. Our groups meet online, and California law requires that participants be located in California for the session.
No. This is a support group, not individual or group therapy. It’s a facilitated space to connect, reflect, and get support from other moms navigating the same transition. If you’re looking for individual therapy instead, we’re happy to point you in the right direction on your free consultation call.
This group is still a great fit. Plenty of moms join while they’re in the middle of the transition, not just after the house is fully empty.
Because the group is small and builds week to week, we ask that you commit to attending all six sessions. Life happens, so talk to us on your intake call if you have a scheduling conflict.
Up to 6, so there’s real room for everyone to be heard.
